PURPOSE:
A resolution is needed to authorize a municipal agreement with NCDOT for U-5532 I Holden Road/Cotswold Avenue/Greenbriar Road/Swing Road Sidewalk Improvements.
BACKGROUND:
U-5533 I will provide federal funding for utility relocations and construction of sidewalks and ADA compliant curb ramps along 1) Holden Road on both sides from Madison Avenue to Friendly Avenue; 2) Cotswold Avenue on the north side from Battleground Avenue to Cotswold Terrace; 3) Greenbriar Road north side from Elm Street to Church Street; and 4) Swing Road both sides from Market Street to Burnt Poplar Road. Funds were directed to the project by the MPO Transportation Advisory Committee in cooperation with NCDOT.
This Agreement defines the cost, and responsibilities of the City and the NCDOT, including the terms to which the City must comply in order to receive reimbursements.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this agreement will be as follows:
$1,319,266 (80%) Federal Funds
$329,816 (20%) 2008 Bond Funds
$1,649,082
Funding for the local match will come from 2008 bond fund account 471-4502-15.6401. A budget adjustment is required to move funding into the appropriate account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached resolution authorizing a municipal agreement with NCDOT for U-5532 I Holden Road/Cotswold Avenue/Greenbriar Road/Swing Road Sidewalk Improvements.
