PURPOSE:
An ordinance is needed to establish the budget for U-5532 H: Seminole Drive / Whippoorwill Drive / West Bessemer Avenue Sidewalk Improvements.
BACKGROUND:
Project U-5532 H will construct sidewalks and ADA compliant curb ramps on 1) north side of Seminole Drive from Josephine Boyd Street to Benjamin Parkway, 2) north side of Whippoorwill Drive from Pennydale Drive to Jane Street, and 3) north side of W. Bessemer Avenue from Grecade Street to Hill Street. The right-of-way, utilities and construction phases of U-5532 H is 80% funded by federal funds allocated through the Transportation Advisory Committee in cooperation with the NCDOT and 20% funded by transportation bond funds provided by the City of Greensboro.
This Agreement defines the cost, and responsibilities of the City and UNCG, including the terms to which the City must comply in order to receive reimbursements.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this project will be as follows:
$536,176 Federal Funds (80%)
$134,044 2008 Bond Funds (20%)
$670,220
Funding for the local match will come from 2008 bond fund account 471-4502-15.6401. A budget adjustment is needed to move funds to the appropriate account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached ordinance establishing the budget for Seminole Drive / Whippoorwill Drive / West Bessemer Avenue Sidewalk Improvements Project U-5532 H.
