PURPOSE:
A budget ordinance is needed to amend the budget for the supplemental agreement with NCDOT related to U-5532 B Phillips Avenue Sidewalks.
BACKGROUND:
The MPO Transportation Advisory Committee, in cooperation with NCDOT, directed federal funds for U-5532 B Phillips Avenue Sidewalks from Summit Avenue to Huffine Mill Road. The executed municipal agreement with NCDOT provides for federal funding to reimburse the City for right-of-way, utilities, and construction expenses. Construction is complete and the project is being closed out. Final costs were $37,817 higher than provided for under the municipal agreement. This supplemental municipal agreement will add sufficient federal funds to maintain an 80% federal funding share of total project costs.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for the supplemental agreement will be as follows:
$29,744 (80%) Federal TAP-DA Funds
$7,443 (20%) Local Matching Funds
$37,187
Funding for the local match will come from 471-4502-15.6401. A budget adjustment is needed to move funds to the correct account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached budget ordinance amending the budget for the supplemental agreement with NCDOT related to U-5532 B Phillips Avenue Sidewalks.
