PURPOSE:
The Transportation Department is seeking approval to enter into a contract to provide services for the installation of traffic loop detectors from 07/01/2019-6/30/2021.
BACKGROUND:
On August 7, 2018 The Procurement Services Division on behalf of the Transportation Department conducted an on-line competitive request for proposals (RFP) for the installation of traffic loop detectors. The purpose of this contract is to install materials in the roadway to detect vehicles at traffic signal intersections. Underground Solutions, Inc. was selected for this work. The M/WBE office was consulted during this process and has concurred with the agreement to award this contract to Underground Solutions, Inc. A Secretary of State report for Underground Solutions Inc. is provided as an attachment.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The contract will have an annual encumbrance of $185,000. The initial value of this two-year contract is $370,000. Funds for this contract will be appropriated from Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021 and encumbered using account number 101-4515-02.5427.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests the approval of resolution authorizing the award of Contract 2019-10669 to Underground Solutions, Inc.
