PURPOSE:
City Council is being requested to approve a leasing agreement between the City of Greensboro, Guilford County, and the NC Department of Administration.
BACKGROUND:
The NC Department of Public Safety, Division of the State Highway Patrol, has requested to lease part of the communication equipment (tower) located at 891 Triad Park Maintenance Road, Kernersville, Guilford County, NC for their Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders (“VIPER”). The tower is owned by the City of Greensboro and Guilford County. The lease term is 10 years and the State agrees to pay Guilford County and the City $1.00.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The NC Department of Administration will pay $1.00 to the City and County.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Guilford Metro 911 requests City Council approval of this lease.
