PURPOSE:
A resolution needs to be approved to authorize the sidewalk funding agreement with UNCG.
BACKGROUND:
UNCG requested sidewalk improvements to Neal Street to improve pedestrian mobility, accessibility, and safety, while connecting neighborhoods and protecting the environment. The sidewalk will also provide a means for staff to safely walk to and from their offices and assigned parking lots. UNCG agreed to reimburse the City for a portion of the costs.
This agreement specifies that the amount UNCG will reimburse the City is a not-to-exceed amount of $35,066. The total project cost is $70,943 which is being paid from 2008 Bond Funds.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $35,066 will be appropriated in the 2008 bond fund account 471-4502-15 to reimburse expenditures for this project.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached resolution authorizing the Neal Street Sidewalk Funding Agreement with UNCG.
