BACKGROUND:

The College Road /New Garden Road Sidewalk project will construct sidewalks and ADA-compliant curb ramps from Guida Drive to Ballinger Road.  Federal funding was directed to the project in 2014 by action of the MPO Transportation Advisory Committee in cooperation with NCDOT.  In 2015, the City of Greensboro and the NCDOT entered into a funding agreement.  In 2018 additional funds were added to support right-of-way acquisition.  At this time additional funds are being added based on updated construction cost estimates.

BUDGET IMPACT:

The amended agreement and associated budget ordinance will increase funding as follows:

$147,139 (20%)   Local Matching Funds

$735,698

Local matching funds for this project will come from 471-4502-15.6401.  A budget adjustment will be required to move funds to the appropriate account.
