PURPOSE:
To give the approval of the encroachment agreement between the City of Greensboro and Spartan Student Apartments, LLC.
BACKGROUND:
Spartan Student Apartments approached the City in order to ask for an encroachment of fiber optic to serve Spartan Crossing and Chapman Place. The development is upgrading the internet service to include fully managed WiFi with a 5 gigabit fiber connection. In order to distribute the 5 gigabit fiber connection to all buildings, the owner is connecting all buildings with fiber optic cable, via an underground 1 inch conduit. In order to connect all the buildings it is necessary to make 5 street crossings by directional boring under the street.
Information Technology and Engineering & Inspections have approved this placement of communication connectivity.

It is recommended that City Council give the of the encroachment agreement between Spartan Student Apartments, LLC and the City of Greensboro.
