PURPOSE:
A resolution needs to be approved to authorize execution of an amended agreement with NCDOT for the Ballinger Road Bridge Project (B-5553).
BACKGROUND:
In 2014, the City of Greensboro and the NCDOT entered into a funding agreement for B-5553 Ballinger Road Bridge Project. The project scope is reconstruction of a bridge over a tributary to Horse Pen Creek and roadway improvements from existing curb and gutter and sidewalks west of the bridge to Wakefield Drive.
This agreement adds an additional $2,123,200 in Surface Transportation Block Grant Program - Any Area (BGANY) funding to the project. A 20% local match will be required.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The amended agreement will increase funding as follows:
$2,123,200 BGANY Funds (80%)
$530,800 2008 Transportation Bond Fund (20%)
$2,654,000
Local matching funds will come from 2008 Bond Fund account 471-4502-23.6401. A budget adjustment is required to move funding to the correct account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached resolution authorizing the amended agreement with NCDOT for B-5553: Ballinger Road Bridge.
