PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with Educational Data Systems, Inc (EDSI) in an amount not to exceed $1,200,000 to fund Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act In School/Out of School Youth services through June 30, 2020.
BACKGROUND:
The Workforce Development Board/City of Greensboro has contracted with EDSI to provide comprehensive workforce services for Youth since July 2018.
EDSI has performed its contract responsibilities and met benchmarks at an acceptable level to date.
On April 26, 2019, the Workforce Development Board (WDB) voted to extend the contract through June 30, 2020 for the period of July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds for this contract modification are budgeted in the following Office of Workforce Development Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act accounts. All funds to be utilized are US Department of Labor funds passed through the NC Department of Commerce. No General Funds are requested.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is requested that the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract in an amount not to exceed $1,200,000 with Educational Data Systems, Inc.
