PURPOSE:
Arcadis G&M of Nort Carolina, Inc. is being requested to provide Construction Administration (CA) and Resident Project Representation Services (RPR) for the Mitchell Water Treatment Plant 2019 Improvements project. City Council approval of a contract in the amount of $2,300,000 is requested.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Mitchell WTP Improvement project is to address aging and deteriorating electrical infrastructure at the Mitchell WTP, improve high service pumping capabilities, and provide for the warehousing of critical parts. A second important aspect to this project is aimed at improving "redundancy and resiliency" of the systems targeted. Finally, the project includes the Filter Backwash Pumps replacement project.
The proposed construction engineering services include construction administration, resident project representation services, bidding, design services and SCADA. The proposed services will be provided by Arcadis G&M of North Carolina because of their knowledge and experience with the design of the project. Arcadis G&M of North Carolina, Inc., is one of the ten firms selected for the Professional Services Water Resource On-call Services Agreement. The team will also include CriTek Engineering Group, P.C. and Shermin Ata, Architect, PLCC. CriTek Engineering Group, P.C. is a local MBE and their utilization is 26.8 % of the contract amount and Shermin Ata, Architect, PLCC is a local WBE and their utilitzation is 0.08%.
