PURPOSE:
To adopted the amended 2019 Records Retention Schedule by the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to include the Annexations which were inadvertently left off the 2019 General Schedule. Annexations are a legal record created by municipalities, and therefore belong in the Legal Records standard on the General Schedule.

BACKGROUND:
On March 19, 2019, City Council adopted the 2019 Records Retention Schedule, for compliance with General Statute 132. The newly adopted Schedule inadvertently excluded Annexations.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Council is being requested to consider adoption of the amended 2019 Records Retention Schedule by the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to include the Annexations which were inadvertently left off the 2019 General Schedule.
