PURPOSE:

To ensure all boards and commission have equal and fair expectations in regards to meeting attendance, conflict of interest, and code of conduct expectations.

 

BACKGROUND:

The current Boards and Commission Handbook reflect various policies in regards to attendance, conflict of interest, and code of conduct expectations.  At the request of City Council, staff researched practices of other municipalities and received expert advice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Government to amend, adapt and improve on the City of Greensboro Boards and Commissions policies.  

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

None.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is recommended that City Council pass this Resolution to Revise the Boards and Commissions Handbook to reflect the revised policies regarding attendance, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and other legal concerns.
