PURPOSE:

The Property Management Section of the Engineering and Inspections Department is in the process of selling surplus land consisting of a non-buildable CB (Central Business) lot located at 400 W. McGee Street, parcel #0001619. City Council approval is requested to proceed with the sale of the property.

 

BACKGROUND:

The City of Greensboro determined the sales price of the property based on the tax value of the property which was $8000. The buyer, Dennis E. Boring agreed to purchase the property for $8000. The sale is in accordance with Section 4:124 of the City Code of Ordinances, “Sale or Exchange of Excess Property”. It has been determined that there is no municipal need for the property. The total area of the property to be sold is 2,282 Sq. Ft. (0.05 acre). The property is zoned CD, Central Business.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

The proceeds from the sale of this property will be credited to the General Fund Sale of Real Estate Account #101-0000-00.8616.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

The Property Management Section of the Engineering and Inspections Department recommends that City Council approve and authorize the sale of surplus property located at 400 W. McGee Street.
