PURPOSE:
Jose and Cynthya Arredondo have petitioned for annexation of their property located at 5705 Ruffin Road. In order to consider the annexation covered by this petition, the City Council must set a public hearing.

BACKGROUND:
This property is within the Tier 1 Growth Area (2013-2019) on the Growth Strategy Map in the Comprehensive Plan. The proposed use for this site is to be developed with one single family dwelling.

City water will be available by connecting to the 12-inch water line within located within Ruffin Road. In order for this site to be served with water, the owner would be responsible for all costs associated with extending and connecting to the public line.

City sanitary sewer service will be available by connecting to the 8-inch sewer line located approximately 360 feet to the east. The applicant is advised that the sewer main must be extended across the entire frontage of the site and a private pump station would need to be installed to access the gravity main. Gravity sewer service is available by connecting to the existing 10-inch outfall located approximately 1,100 feet to the west. In order for this site to be served with sanitary sewer, the owner would be responsible for all costs associated with extending and connecting to the public line.
The City's Fire Department notes that this site is currently served by Pinecroft Sedgefield Station #23 and upon annexation will be served by City Station #52. Service to this site should either remain the same or slightly improve.
