PURPOSE:
The Trustees of Guilford County Technical Community College have petitioned for annexation of their property located at 1117 Rear NC Highway 68 North and 7908 Leabourne Road. The portion of interstate highway right-of-way located between the Leabourne Road property and Greensboro's current city limits will be annexed as part of this request. In order to consider the annexation covered by this petition, the City Council must set a public hearing.
BACKGROUND:
This property is within the Tier 1 Growth Area (2013-2019) on the Growth Strategy Map in the Comprehensive Plan. The proposed use is and will continue to be a community college.

City water will be available by connecting to either the 8-inch or 6-inch line located on site. In order for this site to be served with water, the owner would be responsible for all costs associated with extending and connecting to the public line.
City sanitary sewer service will be available by connecting to either the 12-inch or 8-inch line on site. The applicant is advised that sewer service will involve the extension of a public main across this site to the upstream properties. In order for this site to be served with sanitary sewer, the owner would be responsible for all costs associated with extending and connecting to the public line.
The City's Fire Department notes that this site is currently served by Oak Ridge Station #51 and upon annexation will be served by City Station #17 and possibly Colfax Station #16. Service to this location would...
