PURPOSE:
City Council is requested to approve execution of Amendment #3 for Contract 2009-0104 to amend the professional design services for Barber Park Master Plan Phase 2 with Shermin Ata Architect, PLLC.
BACKGROUND:
This request originated as part of the professional services provided by Shermin Ata Architect, PLLC, for the Barber Park Master Plan, which was completed and approved in December 2003. The second phase of the park redevelopment recommended by the plan includes development of a new community building, which was completed in January 2019, and a new maintenance building. The maintenance building portion of the project was initially bid in December 2015, but was delayed due to funding constraints. Supplemental funding for completing the maintenance building was allocated in the 2016 voter approved bonds. The revised professional design proposal amendment includes updating and design changes for the Barber Park Maintenance Building due to soil conditions, code updates to the overall project, and an updated project schedule for anticipated completion. A more detailed description of the work for this amendment is addressed in the proposal letter dated November 30, 2018-Rev 2-25-19 from Shermin Ata Architect, PLLC and is included as "Attachment A."

BUDGET IMPACT:
