PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2017-076, Cotswold Terrace Round-About Improvement, have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Atlantic Contracting Company, Inc. in the amount of $734,974.75.
BACKGROUND:
This work consists of all labor, equipment, and materials required for installation of asphalt, concrete sidewalk, concrete curb ramps, median islands, mountable curb, driveway aprons, fire hydrants, manholes, and valve boxes.
The bids were opened on February 28, 2019 and the apparent lowest, responsible bidder is Atlantic Contracting Company, Inc. (Greensboro, NC) with a bid of $734,974.75.
The MWBE goals were MBE 5% and WBE 5%.
The prime contractor is a certified WBE. The contractor’s commitment is MBE 5.0% and WBE 5.0%.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds for this construction contract will come from 2008 bond account 471-4502-41.6014. A budget adjustment is required to move funds to the appropriate account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended by the Departments of Engineering & Inspections and GDOT that City Council approve the bid and award Contract 2017-076, Cotswold Terrace Round-About Improvement, to Atlantic Construction Company, Inc. for the bid amount of $734,974.75.
