PURPOSE:

To give the approval of the encroachment agreement between the City of Greensboro and Gboro AG II, LLC.

 

BACKGROUND:

Gboro AG II, LLC approached the City in order to ask for an encroachment of fiber optic to serve Sebastian Village, Sebastian Court and Sebastian Place. The development is upgrading the internet service to include fully managed WiFi with a 5 gigabit fiber connection. In order to distribute the 5 gigabit fiber connection to all buildings, the owner is connecting all buildings with fiber optic cable, via an underground 1 inch conduit. In order to connect all the buildings it is necessary to make 3 street crossings by directional boring under the street.

 

Information Technology and Engineering & Inspections have approved this placement of communication connectivity.

BUDGET IMPACT:

There is no budget impact.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is recommended that City Council give the of the encroachment agreement between Gboro AG II, LLC and the City of Greensboro.
