The Water Resources Department requests a resolution to recognize the Guilford Creek Week March 23-30, 2019.

BACKGROUND:

The City of Greensboro, along with the City of High Point, Guilford County, and other participating agencies, celebrate Guilford Creek Week which is a week-long initiative celebrating the importance, impact, and influence of the creeks and waterways of Guilford County.

Guilford Creek Week offers many fun, often free, educational, hands-on recreational opportunities that allow the residents of Guilford County to learn about the importance of waterways. It is dedicated to helping raise awareness about the vital role local water plays in our everyday lives and how the health of that water can have a direct impact on the community.

The City of Greensboro is dedicated to ensuring clean, safe water for the community. Beginning March 23 and lasting through March 30, 2019 residents are asked to participate in many of the local events offered to learn more about the vital role they have in environmental awareness and water pollution prevention.
