PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Department of Transportation has requested Stantec to provide professional services associated with the development of a Greensboro Wayfinding Signage Plan. A resolution needs to be approved to authorize this contract.
BACKGROUND:
The Greensboro Department of Transportation has requested Stantec to provide preliminary professional services associated with the development of a Greensboro Wayfinding Signage Plan. The study is primarily focused on developing a plan for vehicular and pedestrian wayfinding in Downtown, but will also evaluate inclusion of other key reinvestment corridors. Tasks in the contract will include 1) Development of the Wayfinding Master Plan, and 2) Design of Vehicular and Pedestrian Wayfinding Signage to include bid consultation and installation support.
Our eight on-call professional services firms were considered for the project. Stantec was selected for the project due to their experience conducting similar studies.
The Stantec team includes participation of $20,800 with local WBE Wendy Miller Landscape Architecture for 10.2% of the total contract.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $204,600 will come from 2016 Downtown Streetscape bond fund account 484-2201-04.5410 for this project. A budget adjustment will be required to move funding to the correct account.
