PURPOSE:
The Property Management Section of the Engineering & Inspections Department is in the process of purchasing right of way and easements for the W. Wendover/Sapp Road Sidewalk Project. City Council approval was given on November 20, 2018 in the amount of $35,300, which is incorrect. City Council approval is requested to rescind their resolution approving the purchase of right of way and easements from Wendover, LLC and authorize the purchase with the correct amount of $35,350 from Wendover, LLC.

BACKGROUND:
The Greensboro Department of Transportation has approved the W. Wendover & Sapp Road Sidewalk Project. The main purpose of the project is to provide pedestrians with a safe route along W. Wendover Avenue, connecting to existing sidewalks on W. Wendover Avenue.

The subject property is located at 5417 Sapp Rd., parcel #0074476. This property is owned by Wendover, LLC. The portion of property to be purchased was appraised by Matthew Foster of Foster Appraisals and was valued at $35,350. The owners agreed to accept the appraised amount.

The property is zoned CD-C-L (Conditional District - Commercial Low). The required right-of-way purchase consists of 508 Sq. Ft. (.0.01 acre). Also required are two Temporary Construction Easements totaling 3,843 Sq. Ft. (0.09 acre).

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $35,350 for this purchase is budgeted in the Street and Sidewalk Capital Project Fund, Account #471-4502-15.6012, Activity #A11171.
