PURPOSE:
The City of Greensboro Water Resources Department is requesting to enter into a professional services contract with WithersRavenel to provide design services for the Reedy Fork Sewer Line Extension project.

BACKGROUND:
The Reedy Fork Sewer Line Extension project includes the installation of sewer lines to support commercial/industrial development northeast of the City. Approximately 6,200 LF of 24" will be installed parallel to Reedy Fork Creek and connect to an existing 24" existing sewer near Summit Ave. Sewer is currently available to the southeast of the property as an existing 24" sewer line. In addition, approximately 5,000 LF of 8-inch. and 12-inch gravity sewer will connect to the existing 24" sewer outfall to serve existing properties. Work under this contract consists of surveying, engineering design, permitting and, bid preparation services for the construction of the sewer line extensions. The professional services of WithersRavenel an on-call consultant are recommended for this project based on their knowledge and previous design experience with the City's water and sewer collection system. Critek Engineering Group, P.C. will provide erosion control plans and design services for the project. Critek is a Minority Business Enterprise firm within the ten county MSA and part of the WithersRavenel's on-call services team. The anticipated MBE utilization for this design services contract is 12.5% of the total contract amount.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding is budgeted in Water Resources Capital Improvements Fund account 503-7028-02.5410 in the amount of $375,000. A budget ...
