PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Department of Transportation has requested Gannett Fleming to provide preliminary professional services associated with Phase II of the Gate City Boulevard Streetscape Project. A resolution needs to be approved to authorize this contract.
BACKGROUND:
The Greensboro Department of Transportation has requested Gannett Fleming to provide preliminary professional services associated with Phase II of the Gate City Boulevard Streetscape Project. The study area will be along Gate City Boulevard from South Chapman Street to South Eugene Street. Tasks in the contract will include (1) the feasibility of relocating utility lines, (2) conceptual streetscape design, and (3) a pedestrian crossing study.
Our 5 planning on-call professional services firms were considered for the project. Gannett Fleming, Inc. was selected for the project due to their previous experience and performance with similar projects.
The Gannett Fleming team includes anticipated participation of BBFoster Consulting, PC (MBE), JC Waller & Associates PC (MBE) and Wendy Miller Landscape Architecture, PLLC (WBE) for 13.2% MWBE.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $280,000 will come from 2008 GDOT bond fund account 471-4502-12.5410 for this project. A budget adjustment will be required to move funding to the correct account.
