PURPOSE:
GTA contracts with Transdev Services Inc. for the management and operation of transit services. A contract addendum totaling $390,000 is required in order to pay TransDev Services Inc. for providing these services through December 31, 2018.
BACKGROUND:
At the December 19, 2017 meeting, City Council approved the rescinding of Resolution 17-0630 which awarded the Management and Operation of Transit Services provided by the Greensboro Transit Authority contract to Transdev Services Inc. City Council also authorized the City Manager to extend Transdev Services Inc.'s contract for an additional twelve months from January 2018 through December 31, 2018, for a sum not to exceed $18 million.
The City's contract with Transdev Services, Inc. for the ADA Complementary Paratransit service is based upon a set fee for each completed passenger trip. The budget for the ADA Complementary Paratransit services for Transdev contract extension was based on 258,928 completed trips. Based on the ten month actual average of completed passenger trips and projections to December 31, 2018, GTA's ADA Complementary Paratransit service will have provided over 272,545 passengers trips which represents a 5.26% or 13,617 increase in passenger trips over the amount budgeted.
