PURPOSE:
The Field Operations Department is requesting additional funds for Contract 2016-10489 to Hire Quest, LLC dba Trojan Labor for Temporary Labor Services for Solid Waste Collections Services in the Field Operations Department. Council approved contract funding for three years in the amount of $645,000 in the original resolution. The contract is currently in year three and is close to exceeding that amount. The contract was procured for three years with two optional one year renewals. The department is requesting additional funds of $85,000 annually to be added to the contract which will increase the contract value to $300,000 annually for the remainder of the contract term including renewals.
BACKGROUND:
The Field Operations Department contracted with a temporary labor staffing firm to ensure that they deliver services in an efficient and effective manner. The Department utilize temporary labor services for loose leaf collection, mowing, landscaping, litter collection, landfill operations and solid waste collections.
In 2016, the contract was awarded to Hire Quest, LLC dba Trojan Labor. The contract was approved for three years with two optional one year renewals. The contract was estimated at $215,000 annually or $1,075,000 for the five year period. The MWBE Office approved the original contract. Attached is a copy of the MWBE memo.
