PURPOSE:
City Council is being requested to approve the contract extension related to full design services for the design of Fire Station No. 56 and award the contract to ADW Architects.
BACKGROUND:
In order to better serve and meet the needs of fire protection coverage to the citizens of Greensboro, the Fire Department will be replacing the current fire station located at 820 Franklin Blvd. The new station will provide much needed upgrades and services not currently available at this aged station location. Facilities Construction has solicited the services of ADW Architects to provide the City with full design services for the design this new permanent Fire Station that the Fire Department will use to serve this community.
The scope of work covered under this work includes Architectural Services, Site/Civil Engineering & Landscape Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering, Structural Engineering and Cost Estimating services at a cost of $306,000.

The Fire Department & E&I requests that City Council approve the contract extension and award the contract for the design of Fire Station no. 56 to ADW Architects in the amount of $306,000.
