PURPOSE:
The City Manager is required to inform City Council of any NCDOL, OSH division citations that the City receives.
BACKGROUND:
On July 22, 2018 the City received one serious and one non-serious citation from NCDOL OSH Division regarding welding equipment, portable fire extinguishers and safety data sheets. The citations were a result of a general schedule inspection of the Field Operations Department. The proposed penalty from the citations was $1,950. The City has requested an informal conference with NCDOL OSH to review the corrective actions taken and request a penalty reduction.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The City may be responsible to pay up to $1,950 in fines.
