PURPOSE:
To make clarifying amendments to various portions of Chapter 13 of the Greensboro Code of Ordinances and to move the portion governing Street Performers to a newly enacted Article VI .
BACKGROUND:
Chapter 13 of the Greensboro Code of Ordinances is in need of various amendments to better organize the Chapter. Certain businesses require business permits (for example: massage therapy, mobile food vendors). Those businesses will remain governed by Chapter 13, Article V. However, the commercial activity done by street performers will no longer require a business permit, and therefore, the portion of the ordinances governing such activity will be moved from Article V to a newly enacted Article VI.
BUDGET IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended that City Council amend Chapter 13 of the Greensboro Code of Ordinances to better organize the Chapter and to move Street Performers from Article V to a newly enacted Article VI.
