PURPOSE:
City Council is requested to approve the execution of a Mechanical HVAC / Lighting Controls Maintenance / Services Agreement between Johnson Controls and Greensboro Coliseum Complex for ongoing facility systems maintenance and building engineering support. This contract will be for Johnson Controls Proprietary building systems which includes the Maintenance, Operational Support, Fire Alarm and State / City required Fire Alarm Inspections of equipment and repair associated with the Coliseum fire, evacuation and HVAC systems. The multi-year agreement also funds a major systems next-gen software update and will be within the overall annual Coliseum maintenance budget.
Cost Summary:
Year 1 (July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019): $167,502.00
Year 2 (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020): $170,652.00
Year 3 (July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021): $173,824.00

* One Full Time Johnson Controls Technician
* Annual NFPA Fire Alarm System Inspection
* 24/7 Remote Fire Alarm Monitoring
* Replacement parts budget of $5000 annually
* METASYS Network Engine Upgrade
* Discounted Labor Rates for Not-Covered Expenses that may arise.
BACKGROUND:
Johnson Controls was selected as the Control System for the Coliseum Complex during the 1993 major renovation and expansion.
