PURPOSE:
Ordinance will amend the Solid Waste Capital Improvement Fund to provide funding for the postclosure phase III project at the landfill.
BACKGROUND:
This ordinance transfers funding in the FY 17-18 Solid Waste Disposal Fund to the Solid Waste Capital Project Fund. The Solid Waste Disposal Fund includes $500,000 budgeted for postclosure costs. This ordinance will transfer the funds to the Solid Waste Capital Project Fund in order to fund intital design work on the postclosure phase III project. Additional funding will be transferred in future budgets to provide the estimated $4.6 million needed to complete Phase III of the postclosure process.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no net budget impact to the organization. The funds being transferred are budgeted part of the existing Solid Waste Disposal Fund budget. A budget adjustment in the Solid Waste Disposal Fund will move funding to the appropriate account for transfer into the Solid Waste Capital Project Fund.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The departments involved request that City Council approve the attached ordinance amending the Solid Waste Capital Project Fund.
