PURPOSE:
Water Resources is requesting a contract change order to Contract 2010-1280 related to the Stewart Mill Road Lift Station and Forcemain Design and Construction Administration project to provide additional construction services for the project.

BACKGROUND:
This project is a part of the overall Eastern Area sewer improvements in order to provide sewer service to the developing Rock Creek basin and eastern areas of the City. Contract 2010-1280 in the amount of $525,000 was awarded to DMP in 2010. Previous change orders included design and mapping requirements to obtain conditional FEMA approval for proposed utility line stream crossings in the amount of $115,226, additional mapping to support the utility extension that serves the Birch Creek Business Park in the amount of $10,486, an Environmental Assessment required by the State covering all three Eastern Area improvement projects in the amount of $45,000, and FEMA permitting assistance to incorporate increased rated capacity including a structural evaluation of the I-40 sewer crossing in the amount of $116,917. Change order 5 proposes additional services including construction administration support needed to finalize the contract.

The design and construction services team for the contract included DMP, an on-call consultant. The design and construction services for the change order include the engineer of record and Critek Engineering Group, PC, a local MBE. The MBE commitment for this change order is 12.8 %. The total MWBE participation for the overall contract is 2.48%.
