PURPOSE

City Council approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract extension with Arbor E&T, LLC, d/b/a ResCare Workforce Services in an amount not to exceed $1,400,000 to fund Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Adult, Dislocated Worker, and One-Stop Operator services through June 30, 2019.

 

BACKGROUND: 

The Workforce Development Board/City of Greensboro has contracted with Arbor E&T, LLC, d/b/a ResCare Workforce Services to provide comprehensive workforce services for Adults and Dislocated Workers since October 2014. 

 

ResCare Workforce Services has performed its contract responsibilities and met benchmarks at an acceptable level to date.  On May 22, 2018, the Workforce Development Board Skills Committee voted to approve the contract through June 30, 2019 at a cost not to exceed $1,400,000 for the period of July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019. 

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

Funds for this contract modification are budgeted in the following Office of Workforce Development Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act accounts.  All funds to be utilized are US Department of Labor funds passed through the NC Department of Commerce.  No General Revenue funds are requested.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is requested that the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract extension in an amount not to exceed $1,400,000 with Arbor E&T, LLC, d/b/a ResCare Workforce Services.
