PURPOSE:

City Council approval is requested for a Usage Agreement for Guilford County Fire Rescue Council, Inc. (GCFRC) for the use of water from City-owned Lakes for emergency fire suppression services. 

 

BACKGROUND:

The Water Resources Department received a request to enter into a Usage Agreement from GCFRC in April of this year.  The agreement was requested as part of their ISO certification process, and formalizes a long-standing practice of the City allowing the use of water from City-owned lakes for emergency fire suppression.  The Department has reviewed the request and recommends approval of the agreement.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

There is no budget impact to the City. 

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is requested that City Council approve the usage agreement with the Guilford County Fire Rescue Council, Inc. for the use of water from City-owned lakes for emergency fire suppression services.
