PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to convey a utility easement to Duke Energy in order for them to install approximately 1,800 feet of primary cable and a transformer at 1516 Stewart Mill Road, Parcel 0084847, to provide electrical service to a sanitary sewer lift station.
BACKGROUND:
The Water Resources Department is constructing a 19.0 MGD (million gallons per day) sanitary sewer lift station to serve the eastern area of Greensboro. This lift station will pump waste to the TZ Osborne Water Reclamation Facility. The lift station will require electrical service and a new transformer. Duke Energy requires an easement to install the transformer and underground service lines to the site.
BUDGET IMPACT:
No budget impact is expected with the conveyance of the utility easement.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Property Management section of the Engineering and Inspections Department recommends the approval of this purchase.
