PURPOSE:

City Council is requested to approve the sole source purchase of $252,293.00 for the addition of the Priority Dispatch Emergency Police Dispatch call intake protocol.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Interlocal Cooperative Agreement states that personnel will be credentialed by National Academy of Emergency Dispatch/Priority Dispatch in both fire and medical call intake protocols.   City Council approved Sole Source Contract in 2005 for this protocol. Guilford Metro 911 is implementing the Emergency Police Dispatch call intake protocol to standardize law enforcement call intake protocol and limit liability of law enforcement related calls by providing consistent call entry screening.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

Funding for this project is funded in FY 17-18 $252,293.00 account # 281-3903-01.5432

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

Guilford Metro 911 recommends that City Council approve the sole source purchase of $252,293.00 for the addition of the Priority Dispatch Emergency Police Dispatch call intake protocol.
