PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department received a grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National grant program for the tennis court renovation project at Spencer Love Tennis Center. To accept this grant, a budget amendment is requested from the Greensboro City Council due to the change from the original grant award to amount received in accordance with current city fiscal procedures.

BACKGROUND:
Phase 1 of the Spencer Love Tennis Center renovation originally included the renovation of 13 existing Har-Tru tennis courts to HydroCourts but was reduced to 12 due to limited access to the thirteenth court. The Parks and Recreation Department had applied for a $15,000 grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National grant program for the 13 court renovation project. USTA communicated to the Parks and Recreation Department that due the reduction in the number of courts to 12 the grant allocation would be reduced to $13,850. The City Council approved the original acceptance and budget amendment of the USTA (National) grant for $13,850 at the July 18, 2017 meeting. USTA has since awarded the City the original $15,000 allocation. A budget amendment is required to accept the difference ($1,150) in grant amount awarded to the City from the previously approved amount.

BUDGET IMPACT:
