PURPOSE:

The Property Management Section of the Engineering and Inspections Department is in the process of selling surplus land consisting of a portion of a non-buildable residential lot located at 1700 McConnell Road, parcel #0010640. City Council approval is requested to proceed with the sale of the property.

 

BACKGROUND:

The portion of property to be sold is a leftover remnant of right-of-way. An offer of $500 was accepted from Lisa Kaat and Derek Kaat, who are the only adjoining property owners. The sale is in accordance with Section 4:124 of the City Code of Ordinances, “Sale or Exchange of Excess Property”. 

 

It has been determined that there is no municipal need for the property. The total area of the property to be sold is 1,223 Sq. Ft. (0.03 acre). The property is zoned RM 18, Residential Multi Family.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

The proceeds from the sale of this property will be credited to the General Fund Sale of Real Estate Account #101-0000-00.8616.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

The Property Management Section of the Engineering and Inspections Department recommends that City Council approve and authorize this sale of property.
