PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to convey property owned by the City of Greensboro by dedication, a Permanent Utility Easement to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) for the Urban Loop (Eastern Loop) at 4854 Lake Jeanette Road, Parcel #0087328.
BACKGROUND:
The easement dedication was approved by the Fire Department as this parcel is to be used for Fire Station #43. The Permanent Utility Easement requested by NCDOT of 2,561 Sq. Ft. (.059 acres) will be used for the sole purpose of constructing a 6-lane, 46’ median divided freeway (a/k/a Greensboro Eastern Loop), from US 29 (Future I-785) to the East of SR 2303 Lawndale Drive with an approximate length of 4.7 miles.
Since the easement is an encumbrance on City property, City Council approval is required for this transaction.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no budget impact.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Property Management Section of the Engineering & Inspections Department recommends the approval of the easement dedication at 4854 Lake Jeanette Road.
