PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Department of Transportation would like to extend Contract 2015-10262 for Installation of Traffic Loop Detectors. Council approved contract funding for two years in the amount of $367,420 in the original resolution. The contract, however, was actually procured for two years with three one year extensions. The department is requesting a one year extension and additional funding of $62,260 for a total contract value of $429,680.
BACKGROUND:
In 2015, the Centralized Contracting Division conducted an online solicitation through the Greensboro Electronic Procurement System (GEPS) for Installation of Traffic Loop Detectors for the Greensboro Department of Transportation. The contract was solicited for two years with three optional one year renewals. The contract was awarded to Underground Solutions Inc. The MWBE Office approved extending the contract for one additional year. Attached is the MWBE Memo.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The total amount approved in the original resolution was $367,420. The total contract amount requested to extend services an additional year is $429,680; an increase of $62,260. This increase will be funded as follows:
$30,000 101-4515-02.5427 Transportation Operating Funds
$32,260 471-4502-23.5427 2008 Bond Funds
$62,260
A budget adjustment will be required to move funds to the appropriate account. Funding in subsequent years is contingent upon future City Council appropriations through the annual budget.
