PURPOSE:
An ordinance is needed to amend the Water and Sewer Extension Fund in the amount of $2,231,113 from the County Construction Projects Fund to cover construction costs of the Stewart Mill Lift Station and Force Main and Rock Creek Lift Station Force Main Projects and to prepare to close the County Construction Projects Fund following the completion of capital projects.
BACKGROUND:
The Eastern Area of the City of Greensboro was identified as a future economic development area. The City and Guilford County agreed to use a portion of the City and County Water and Sewer Trust Fund proceeds per the Termination Agreement for the City and County Water and Sewer Agreement for installation of sewer in this area to assist with development. This project calls for the construction of two sewer force mains, Stewart Mill and Rock Creek. Approval of this resolution will provide partial funding of contract 2010-130A to D.H. Griffin Construction Company, LLC in the amount of $11,427,643.04. The remainder of the funding for this project will come from the Water Resources Capital Improvement Projects Fund.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The Water and Sewer Extension Fund budget will be increased by $2,231,113 from remaining funds available in the County Construction Projects Fund. A budget adjustment is needed to transfer these funds.
