PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2010-025 - Holts Chapel Road and Lowdermilk Street Widening and Sidewalk Improvements project have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Triangle Grading & Paving, Inc. in the amount of $6,995,185.74.
BACKGROUND:
This work consists of all labor, equipment, and materials required for installation of pavement widening, retaining walls, storm drainage, fire hydrants, water/sewer lines, handrails, and erosion control. Also, includes ADA compliant concrete curb cuts and driveways.
The bids were opened on August 31, 2017 and the apparent lowest, responsible bidder is Triangle Grading & Paving, Inc. (Burlington, NC) with a bid of $6,995,185.74.
This project is subject to the DBE requirements due to Federal guidelines.
The DBE utilization goal was 12%.
The contractor's commitment is DBE = 17.7%.
