PURPOSE:

The bids for Contract 2017-035 - Mitchell Filter Plant Structural and Durability Improvement Project have been received.  In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Freyssinet, Inc. in the amount of $6,303,077.00.

 

BACKGROUND:

This work consists of structural repairs to existing reinforced concrete members and durability repairs and enhancements to existing concrete surfaces in walls, beams, and slabs. The bids for this project were opened on July 20, 2017 and the apparent lowest, responsible bidder is Freyssinet, Inc. (Sterling, VA) with a bid of $6,303,077.00.

 

The M/WBE utilization goal was MBE 0% and WBE 0%.

The contractor’s commitment is MBE 0% and WBE 0%.

The proposed date for start of construction is September 18, 2017.  The proposed date of completion is April 6, 2018.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

 

It is recommended by the Departments of Engineering & Inspections and Water Resources that City Council approve the bid and award Contract 2017-035 - Mitchell Filter Plant Structural and Durability Improvement Project to Freyssinet, Inc. for the bid amount of $6,303,077.00.
