PURPOSE:

City Council approval is requested for an agreement with Duke Energy Carolinas for the adjustments to the Duke Energy Carolinas utilities along Battleground Avenue (US 220) and Westridge Road Intersection Improvement.

 

BACKGROUND:

                     

The Battleground Avenue and Westridge Road Intersection Improvement is a project within the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) right-of-way (ROW).  NCDOT is required to compensate Duke Energy Carolinas within the public ROW for the costs to adjust their facilities.  The City of Greensboro is also required to provide the same compensation within that public ROW.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

Funding in the amount of $559,321.51 is available in State, Federal, and other Grants Fund account 220-4588-01.6014 A12083.

 

This is a Federal Funded contract/project and is subject to 100% reimbursement by the FHWA.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is recommended by the Departments of Engineering & Inspections and Transportation that City Council authorize the utility adjustment agreement for Duke Energy Carolinas in the amount of $559,321.51.
