PURPOSE:
Summit Design and Engineering, PLLC, listed as a DBE consultant with the NC Department of Transportation, was selected to provide construction inspection for the Downtown Greenway Phase 2 Improvements Project. City Council approval of the professional services contract with Summit Design and Engineering Services, PLLC, in the amount of $268,089.60, is requested.
BACKGROUND:
This project includes installation of approximately 1500 SY of concrete greenway, 1890 SY of concrete sidewalks, driveways, curb cuts, traffic signals, landscaping, asphalt due to intersection reconstruction at Gate City Boulevard, waterline installations, storm drainage, and associated erosion control items.
Greenway installation work is to begin Fall 2017 and is to be completed by Fall 2018.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this contract will come from Street and Sidewalk Capital Project Fund account 401-4542-01.6015 A16096.
This is a Federal Funded contract and is subject to 80% reimbursement by the FHWA.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Engineering & Inspections and Transportation Departments recommend and request authorizing the award in the amount of $268,089.60 for the Downtown Greenway Phase 2 Improvements Project to Summit Design and Engineering Services, PLLC.
