PURPOSE:
Hazen & Sawyer, PC is being requested to provide construction engineering services for the TZ Osborne Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) Electrical Buildings for Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) and Electrical/Mechanical Upgrades Project. City Council approval of a contract with Hazen & Sawyer, PC in the amount of $687,082 is requested.

BACKGROUND:
The TZ Osborne WRF Electrical Buildings for BNR and Electrical/Mechanical Upgrades Project consists of building two electrical buildings for the BNR project. The Work includes, but is not limited to, limited site grading, foundation preparation, sedimentation and erosion control, construction of two masonry buildings on concrete slab footings, purchase and installation of Motor Control Centers (MCCs), installation of conduit and ductbank for power and control, additional electrical components, HVAC equipment and all other work necessary to render the facilities complete as shown in the Contract Drawings and Specifications.

The proposed Construction Engineering Services will be provided by the engineering company that designed the project, Hazen & Sawyer. Hazen & Sawyer will utilize the engineering services of John Davenport Engineering (Davenport), a minority owned business (MBE), and Westcott Small and Associates (Westcott Small), a women owned business. Both businesses are located within the City's Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
