PURPOSE:
City Council is requested to approve execution of Extension #2 for Contract 2015-5278 to amend the professional design services to include collaboration with Water Resources Department for Hester Park Master Plan Phase 1 project with CLH Design, P.A of Cary, North Carolina.

BACKGROUND:
This request originated as part of the professional services provided by CLH Design, P.A, for the Hester Park Redevelopment Master Plan. The Master Plan was completed December 31, 2015 and approved by the Parks and Recreation Commission on January 13, 2016. Phase 1 of the park redevelopment could include a new park entrance, additional parking and walking trails, outdoor fitness equipment, multi-purpose field improvements, wayfinding signage and fa?ade improvements for Trotter Community Recreation Center. Extension #1 was amended to include the design completion and construction administration services of the above project scope. Extension #2 includes design and permitting of permeable pavers and a sodded bio-retention stormwater control device adjacent to the Trotter Recreation Center in collaboration with the self-performed task for the Water Resources Department. The second amendment is only associated with the professional services to be provided for the Water Resources Department's component of the contract. The original contract and previous amendment included a 23% MBE and 77% WBE participation.
