PURPOSE:

To receive and appropriate reimbursement funds for multiple GFD deployments that occurred in the current fiscal year.

 

BACKGROUND:

GFD responded to multiple Presidential declared disasters in the past ten months. The deployments addressed in this request are primarily for Hurricane Matthew and associated flooding in the eastern part of the state. These deployments resulted in significant overtime expenses as well as associated maintenance and operations expenses.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

This request will amend the General Fund Budget by $215,493. This request will not have an adverse impact on the budget.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

The Fire Department respectfully recommends and requests approval of the budget ordinance.
