PURPOSE:
Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. was selected to provide design services for the Alamance Church Road Improvements in the amount of $764,033.90.
BACKGROUND:
The project entails providing design for the following improvements: roadway widening, curb and gutter, storm drainage, sidewalk, pavement markings, and erosion control devices. The limits are from MLK Jr. Drive to the eastern City Limits Line.
Our twelve on-call professional services firms were considered for this project. Prime consideration was given to their past experience and performance with projects involving streetscape work, sidewalks, roadway configuration, traffic analysis, landscaping, utility design, and public participation. As a result of the analysis by the Transportation and Engineering & Inspections Departments, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. was selected for the project.
Stantec's team includes anticipated participation of 6.73% MWBE. MBE firms are Neighborhood Solutions 0.58%, Winston-Salem, NC and Kennerly Engineering and Design, Inc. 6.15%, Winston-Salem, NC. Other non-MWBE firms are Sungate Design Group, P.A. 20.0%, Raleigh, NC and Falcon Engineering 4.6%, Raleigh, NC.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this contract will be budgeted in the following 2008 bond fund project account: 471-4502-17.5410.
A budget adjustment is required to move funding into the appropriate account.
