PURPOSE:

City Council approval is requested to convey a Permanent Utility Easement to Bellsouth Telecommunications, LLC, d/b/a AT&T North Carolina in order for them to install a new Utility Box at 3110 Forest Lawn Drive, Parcel #0086805.

 

BACKGROUND:

The easement of 900 Sq. Ft. (0.02 acres) will be used for the installation of a Fiber Optics Cross Box to provide fiber optic service to customers in that area.  It will also serve as a place to put equipment that may be needed to serve businesses and residential customers.

 

Bellsouth Telecommunications, LLC used the tax value of the property to determine the acquisition cost. The tax value of the permanent utility easement is $1,175. Since the easement is an encumbrance on City property, City Council approval is required for this transaction.

                     

BUDGET IMPACT:

Proceeds of $1,175 will be deposited into the Parks and Recreation Trails and Greenway Revenue Account #101-5029-01.8690

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

The Property Management Section of the Engineering & Inspections Department recommends the approval of the conveyance of property at 3110 Forest Lawn Drive.
